Meet The Team Behind Funtastic Kids
Funtastic Kids is a family business running holiday camps and wrap around care clubs across Berkshire, with wife and husband, Louise and Marcus as Directors. What started as a team of 5 in 2016 has grown to over 200 staff today including the management team, holiday camp and club staff! Their two children have also been part of the team over the years as well as long standing friends.
Louise is proud of her team for carrying her vision over the last 10 years. Let’s hear from some of the Funtastic Kids team.
Donna, Supervisor
“I have worked for Funtastic kids as a Supervisor for 10 years! I am proud to be the first Supervisor Louise employed and I am still enjoying my job now! I have been there for all the changes over the years! My favourite part of the job is seeing the children I have worked with grow in confidence and go off happily to secondary school. Also I love seeing the children’s faces when we have special visitors into holiday club e.g. reptiles, birds etc.”
Alex, Sports Coach and Playworker
Alex is the son of Directors Louise and Marcus and has been part of the team throughout the years.
“I really loved being a sports coach because it gave me the chance to support and inspire others while doing something I’m passionate about. The role helped me grow in confidence and develop my coaching skills. Director Marcus was incredibly supportive throughout, always offering loads of helpful advice and guidance, which made a huge difference to my experience and development.”
Harriet, Playworker
Harriet joined as a Sports Coach in February 2023 and has more recently taken on a Playworker role.
“I love the opportunity to provide a great holiday experience for the children. A lot of the time they get to try something new at Funtastic Kids, whether it’s sports or crafts or even making new friends, and it’s brilliant to see how happy that makes them and to watch them progress as they grow up. I like seeing familiar faces coming back each holiday as I’ve got to know both children and staff over the years. My favourite memory is running athletics sessions during the summer camps because we can use loads of different bits of equipment and the children love it.”
Aysha, Playworker
“I’ve been a part of Funtastic Kids for almost two years now, and I absolutely love my job. Being a Playworker here has made me realise how passionate I am about working with children and helping them enjoy their time while learning and growing.
What I enjoy most is the support and understanding from the team- they truly make you feel heard and valued. One of my favourite memories was last July during the summer when we had so many kids and all the activities we ran were so much fun. It was such a joyful, energetic time, and being part of it made me feel really proud. I’m so grateful to be part of this amazing team and look forward to continuing to contribute to Funtastic Kids.”
Natasha, Playworker
Natasha has been part of the team for 11 months.
“I love building relationships with the children, getting to know them and their needs. In breakfast club the children are so happy if you remember what they usually have. I enjoy playing with the children and getting involved in doing crafts – I’m trying crafts I’ve never done! I enjoy working with the team in the clubs, it’s very positive. Not quite a memory but I love it during summer when the children are playing outside and just running around enjoying themselves. They seem so carefree!”
